Bulk mulch delivered across Tampa Bay

If you enjoy a Saturday in the yard, spreading your own mulch is one of the easiest ways to save money on landscaping. The expensive part is usually the material and getting it home. A cubic yard of mulch equals about 13 or 14 of the common 2-cubic-foot bags, so a typical home that needs 8 yards would mean more than 100 bags, several trips in the car and a pile of plastic to throw away. Bulk delivery puts the same amount of mulch on your driveway in one drop, usually for less money.

We dump on a tarp where you choose: on the driveway, beside the garage or as close to the beds as the truck can safely reach. The tarp makes clean-up much easier, and if any dyed mulch is in the load it keeps the dye from staining your concrete.

Mulch we deliver

Pine bark comes as mini nuggets or shredded. It is natural brown, lasts well and nuggets stay in place better than shredded mulch in heavy rain. Cypress is the traditional Florida shredded mulch. Eucalyptus is a farm-grown option that keeps its color longer. Dyed mulch in brown, red or black is what many HOAs in Westchase, New Tampa and Riverview specify, so check your guidelines before you order. Rubber mulch is available for playgrounds. If you want a different material on slopes or under oaks, read our pine straw vs. mulch guide.

What a delivery includes

  • Help working out how many yards you need from your bed measurements or photos.
  • Mulch from regional suppliers, loaded by the scoop and measured by the yard.
  • A tarp under the pile on concrete or pavers.
  • A dump spot of your choice, as long as the truck can reach it safely and the ground is firm.
  • Optional add-on: our crew spreads it for you, which turns the order into a mulch installation.

Mulch delivery pricing

Delivery-only pricing has two parts: the mulch, priced per cubic yard by type, and a flat delivery fee based on distance. There is a 3-yard minimum. Installed pricing is listed for comparison so you can decide whether spreading it yourself is worth it.

Choosing a mulch for your beds

Pine bark nuggets are our most common recommendation for Tampa beds. They are heavy enough to stay put in afternoon storms, break down slowly, and add organic matter to sandy soil as they decompose. Shredded mulch, such as cypress or eucalyptus, knits together into a mat that looks tidy but can float out of low beds that collect runoff. Dyed mulch keeps a strong color the first season but fades in full Florida sun, so plan a light top-up. Whatever you choose, spread it 2 to 3 inches deep and keep it back from trunks and from the house slab.

Timing your order

The most popular time to order is late winter, before the dry April–May stretch, so beds are covered when moisture matters most. A second smaller order after rainy season refreshes color for the holidays. Our Tampa mulching calendar has the details. If a storm is forecast, tell us and we will reschedule. Nobody wants to spread wet mulch out of a pile soaked by a thunderstorm.

Where we deliver

We deliver mulch to Tampa, Seminole Heights, Town ’n’ Country, Westchase, Lutz, Temple Terrace, Brandon and Riverview. Re-sodding at the same time? Combine the drop with sod delivery. Prefer straw for slopes? See pine straw installation.

Questions

Mulch Delivery FAQs

Bulk mulch runs $38 to $60 per cubic yard depending on the type, plus a $65 to $125 delivery fee based on distance. There is a 3-yard minimum. We confirm the total in writing before scheduling.

A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, so it equals about 13 to 14 of the common 2-cubic-foot bags. For anything beyond a few small beds, bulk is usually cheaper and far less work to bring home.

Add up your bed square footage. Divide by about 160 for a 2-inch top-up or by about 100 to 110 for a fresh 3-inch layer, then round up. Send us your measurements or photos and we will check the number.

On a tarp on your driveway or another firm, flat spot the truck can safely reach. We avoid soft lawn after rain, septic areas and anywhere over irrigation lines. Tell us about gates, low branches and overhead wires.

Fresh dyed mulch can stain concrete, especially when it is wet. That is why we dump on a tarp. Rinse off any residue promptly after spreading.

Yes, 3 cubic yards. Below that, bagged mulch may make more sense, or we can add a few yards to an installation job.

A few days is fine. Spread it within a week or so if you can. A pile left in the rain stays soggy and heavy, and a pile left for weeks can start to break down and smell sour. Cover it with a tarp if a storm is coming.

Pine bark nuggets are a strong default: they look natural, hold up to rain and improve sandy soil as they break down. Eucalyptus and dyed mulch hold color well. Check HOA rules on color first.

Yes. That becomes our mulch installation service, priced at $75 to $120 per cubic yard installed, including weeding, edging and clean-up.
